


Thomas is a native of Tallahassee and is married to his high school sweetheart, Staci Walton Duggar, who has a Ph.D. in Reading Education.
They have four children including twin daughters, Elisabeth and Madelynn, another daughter, Emma Cate, and a son, Thomas Walton.
After graduating from Guilford College with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in art, Thomas was selected to be a Teach For America corps
member in New Orleans. He taught special education for three years. While teaching full-time, Thomas obtained his master’s degree in special
education from the University of New Orleans. Thereafter, Thomas returned to Tallahassee and received his Juris Doctorate from the Florida
State University College of Law. Thomas practices exclusively in marital and family law and has also been certified by the Florida Supreme
Court as a Certified Family Law Mediator.
Thomas is a member of the American, Florida, and Tallahassee Bar Associations and is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Marital and Family Law.
As a member of The Florida Bar Family Law Section, Thomas currently serves on the Executive Council and has held various committee leadership
positions. He is incoming Co-Chair of the Legislation Committee and has received commendations for his service to the Family Law Section.
He has been extensively involved in revisions to Chapter 61 of the Florida Statues, as related to parenting and child support.
Thomas has presented Legislative and Judicial Updates in the Second Judicial Circuit on issues of parenting, child support, and alimony.
In addition, he serves as a guest lecturer on family law and estate planning topics at the Florida State University College of Law.
